It has been a joy — an exhausting joy — to have returned to the classroom and it has been a wonderful — albeit exhausting wonderful — year!!
And I would be remiss, if I did not take the time to share with you about my favorite class. Smiles, now I know we are NOT supposed to have favorites — but grins, you know we do.
So, here we go — ENJOY!
To My Sixth Grade Class — you were my favorite class this year!
From the get-go, you were ready to be creative, to try new ideas, to be noisy and working at the same time. Almost everything I tossed at you — you caught and ran with it MORE than I had even imagined. (bryce, claymation, greenscreen, etc)
I will NEVER forget DOT DAY when you started to fold the pages to merge dots and brought math into the lesson without even realizing it — and YOU all enjoyed it.
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!
To my Fifth Grade Classes — you were my favorite classes this year!
I was afraid of video — but you all showed me how easy it was. You showed administration that the ipads were not just for inside the classroom. You clapped with Google Earth, embraced graphing like no class I have ever taught, and made each day with you a day to remember.
I will NEVER forget the day in GOOGLE EARTH when we visited Catalina to see where you would be visiting the next week — your excitement rippled through the classroom.
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!
To my Fourth Grade Classes — you were my favorite classes this year!
Remembering your creativity with Paint Shop Pro — how you truly loved making graphics, will always be a very fond memory. You enjoyed Powerpoint, LOVED jumping out of your seat to help a friend, and running up to ask “can I sit in the teacher chair today” just warms my heart.
I will NEVER forget the day when you made your first animation in PAINT SHOP PRO and you started clapping — I almost started to cry happy tears.
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!
To my Third Grade Classes — you were my favorite classes this year!
You might not know this — but the reason I always came out to the playground early to pick you up was the fact that I could not wait to have you in the classroom! Your excitement and joy of every new idea — just makes me smile. You were my first class that truly understood how to navigate to your personal folder to share your work. You were my first class to realize that the network meant you could sit anywhere you wished. And you were my class that typed the best — and enjoyed typing.
I will NEVER forget the day that you were creating your ALL ABOUT ME newspapers and started figuring out things in the software that I did not even know about.
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!
To my Second Grade Classes — you were my favorite classes this year!
Each day you came to the lab was my happy day! You were my class that loved to make stories — using Tellagami, using Puppet Pals and Bible Buddies! You were my class that knew how to share — and enjoyed sharing.
I will NEVER forget the day that we first opened Tellagami and you were a bit hesitant — and then at the end of the year — how you used Tellagami to make “What I Love About 2nd Grade” to share with the first grade classes.
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!
To my First Grade Classes — you were my favorite classes this year!
You were my class that knew the importance of smiles and hugs! We had fun building robots in Kidspiration and playing Legos on the ipads! You made me proud with your Animal Books in Pixie and I loved laughing and singing with you.
I will NEVER forget ending each day with you and tickets! I loved getting prizes to raffle off with you because you enjoyed so much checking your numbers! We were always late back to class because I just had to always pull one more number
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!
To my Kindergarten Classes — you were my favorite classes this year!
You taught me SO much this year! I loved how you enjoyed the ipads but how much more you enjoyed the computers. You learned so much (math, spelling, art) on the ipads and LOVED being on the internet. Everything we tried — we learned something new! You encouraged me to be flexible, to enjoy chaos, to try new ideas, and not limit what you could do because you were only “5″.
I will NEVER forget your joy with simple things like ringing the bell, turning on (or off) the light, smiles with stickers, and the importance of holding a hand when we walked to class.
Please don’t ever forget – YOU were my favorite class this year!

I was really not sure what 2013/14 would bring –
But I am so glad I returned to the classroom.
And am already looking forward to “my favorite class” in 2014/15.
