Activity 1 - Research Challenge: 15 points
How well can you research a topic using the internet? The topic of the research assignment is DHMO, a controversial chemical. Use the information found on the website to determine if DHMO should be illegal.
Activity:
1. Open a Word document. Add a heading and the title Facts about DHMO, Size your screen to take up 1/2 the monitor space. You will make a bulleted list of 10 facts you learn about DHMO from the website given.
2. Open a web browser such as Firefox and enter this address in the address bar: www.dhmo.org
Read through the various articles found on the website and make a list of facts you learn on the word doc.
After the facts, write a short paragraph summarizing your findings and stating whether or not you believe DHMO should be illegal in the US. Back up your opinion with facts.
3. Turn in your paper. Be prepared to present your position and reasoning with the class.
