6th Grade has started animation in Bryce. Funny moment -- Learning moment on Thursday. In the next few weeks we will be watching snippets from movies and then creating them in Bryce. I mentioned some of the movies....Lord of the Rings, The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Wizard of Oz. They got so excited about the Wizard of Oz -- and I admit, I was a bit perplexed. And then it dawned on me -- oh, they are thinking of the current movie.....and then it DAWNED on me....the floating bubble scene is MUCH better n the new movie anyway. So now their excitement is now MY excitement too. :) (note to self: listen to them!!!) (grins)
5th Grade continues to use Powerpoint to make Stop Motion video. We have one more week coming up with "computer stop motion" and then we will move to the ipads.
4th Grade is starting to take what they learned in Paint Shop Pro and create slide backgrounds for PowerPoint. When I mentioned they will be creating worship slides for chapel, they cheered.
2nd Grade reviewed the ABCYa app -- and created some very nice movies. One student created the days of creation. (hope to post that soon)
1st Grade continues to work in Pixie. We did a simple drawing but realized that we need to backtrack a bit on mouse skills. But always, it is great to see their creativity.
And then Kindergarten -- what a way to end the week. Wonderful way.
We used the app: Flash Cards: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ar-flashcards/id502903392?mt=8 --
When they first came into the room, I had placed the letter cards around the room. I asked the students what they saw. Then I told them that it was an invisible zoo that they could ONLY see with their ipads. We then broke the class up into 3 groups -- 2 groups at tables and 1 group at the ZOO. It was great to see their excitement!! and sharing with each other where certain letters were (that Miss Wagner had hidden). A little chaotic but LOTS of learning.
